ABOUT THE u3a
The u3a (University of the Third Age) is an organisation for everyone who has retired from full time work. Do not be put off by the word 'University'. We are for YOU, whether you have any formal qualifications or not and wherever your interests lie. The spirit of the u3a is that everyone both learns and shares.
The u3a is a thriving organisation with, in early 2022, 1039 branches & over 430,000 members in the U.K. The branches are independent but have support from the national organisation - see link top right.
Our branch has about 200 members.

MONTHLY MEETINGS
The Rye branch holds a meeting at the Rye Community Centre in Conduit Hill TN31 7LE at 2pm on the third Monday of every month, except July and August
Few formalities, good speakers; a friendly meeting with time for tea & biscuits (for a small charge) & a chat

We publish a newsletter every month distributed by email. A papercopy is available only to those who don't have an email address.

NATIONAL TALKS: There are a large number of interesting talks each month on a wide variety of topics. there are on zoom and are free. To access he talks simply go to the national u3a website and select On Line Learning Events.
MEMBERSHIP: Becoming a Member
You can join at any time; our Annual Enrolment Meeting is October. Click HERE for an Application Form, which also lists the annual subscription.
If you are undecided about whether you would like to join us, you are welcome to come along to a monthly meeting where you will have the opportunity to meet members of interest groups you may be thinking of joining. At that meeting you will be asked to provide contact details before attending an interest group meeting.
Prospective u3a members may attend one group meeting before committing to u3a membership, although you will be asked to provide contact details first
